How Do I Create an Instagram Account

Facebook vs. Instagram by numbers:

Facebook has a large number of users.

Instagram growing at an exponential rate but still Facebook leads the market just look at the stats for Facebook:

  • 2.38 billion monthly active users database.
  • 96% of users access the platform with mobile devices.
  • 40% of consumers said that they watched most of the videos on Facebook.
  • 65 million small businesses have a Facebook page.
  • 89% of marketers say they use Facebook as their main marketing strategy.

Instagram statistics:

  • 1 billion monthly active users database.
  • 500 million daily active stories worldwide.
  • 37% of US internet users are using Instagram.
  • 60% of Instagram users use Instagram daily.
  • 65% of marketers say they use Instagram as their main marketing strategy.

So as per the above stats, you can easily demonstrate the exact metrics of which one is in the lead.

Well, Facebook dominates most of the social networking stats but Instagram is also in the queue.

As it is clear from the above stats Facebook has a large number of active monthly user databases but still, but Instagram is also playing its role.

The number itself can’t say everything we need to go much deeper to get the best out of it.

Facebook vs. Instagram by demographics:

Now come to the main point which is demographics.

As it is clear it’s the key metric when we run the advertisement.

We need to take care of the demographics.

Some companies or brands promote their products according to gender, age, etc.

If you’re a company and you want to promote your products or services to the teenager then you can easily do that by defining the demographics.

As it is clear from the picture Instagram has mostly young users database and most of them are teenagers.

So it’s a great source that you can easily target your audience by their specific demographics.

Facebook vs. Instagram engagement in numbers:

Let’s talk about one more key metric which is engagement.

As all we aware of the engagement part.

Engagement is the likes and comments received on your post.

Engagement may vary according to the post quality and time of you’re posting but sometimes it also depends on some other factors like the algorithm of the social network.

Well, the algorithm is nothing but a secret science.

As the various tests are done by various brands, small and large businesses, and even people who also performed the same experiment the engagement rate is comparatively higher on Instagram.

Instagram mainly focuses on sharing video and image content only and it just focuses on these two elements irrespective of text content and links.

Instagram comparatively very high engagement rate compared to Facebook.

You can perform the same experiment, try to post the same content (image or video) on both platforms simultaneously then you’ll find the most engagement on Instagram as compared to Facebook.

In terms of features and functionality:

Well if we talk about the functionality part then it can be easily understood by taking an example of a restaurant.

Let’s suppose you’re going out to have dinner and you get into a restaurant.

There are lots of options to choose from then you most probably take a lot of time to choose from.

On the other hand, if you’re going somewhere, to a restaurant that specializes in one particular or three dishes then you can choose easily.

So it can be understood that the one who has a lot more options is Facebook.

You can do many more things on Facebook like watching videos, sharing content, and messages, playing games, etc.

It’s not a single niche focus that’s why I think the retention time on Facebook decreases.

On the other hand on Instagram, it’s highly focused where you can share images and short videos only.

It’s easy to focus on minimum features.

So from a functionality point of view, Instagram is easy to use and easy to focus on as compared to Facebook.

On Facebook, you can share images, text content, video, gif images, links, etc.

Whereas on Instagram you can share the focus visual content either you can share images or short videos.

On Facebook, you can show various emotions like happiness, sadness, anger, etc. whereas on Instagram it only shows the like option.

So which network is best:

Well as discussed earlier in my previous points both networks have their own importance.

It totally depends on which type of content you’re sharing.

If the content you’re sharing is text-based content then you can use Facebook.

If you want to share the link and you want to just update some news that mostly contains text content then it is only suitable for Facebook.

You can even make Facebook pages where you can show yourself as a company or brand.

You can increase the number of likes on your Facebook page to promote your services.

Instagram does not allow you to create any page you just have an account whether it’s your business or individual.

You can manage a single account at a time but Facebook allows you to manage multiple Facebook pages at a time.

You can create a Facebook group also.

Suppose you have like-minded people and you want to group them all then it’s only possible by Facebook not by Instagram.

The only Facebook allows you to make public or private Facebook groups where you can add like-minded people and start a conversation.

Even you can share your content in Facebook groups where you can get engagement on your post.

Facebook groups are an effective way of getting instant traffic to your content.

If you are going to organize an event in your company or organization then you can easily create your event on Facebook only not on Instagram.

You can invite your audience to your event easily on Facebook.

It creates genuine and people will be more likely to trust you.

It is always a better idea to create and share the event on Facebook.

If you are going to an image contest which image content is better?

You know Instagram is the best source of engagement where you can get the maximum engagement.

Instagram is the only platform where you can share your content and ask people to engage with the post and vote for the image you like the most.

Even you can share the contest on Facebook to get maximum engagement on Instagram later on.

Facebook vs. Instagram: Paid advertisement Which platform is better:

Well in terms of paid advertisement, if you want to run a campaign then it’s totally up to you which type of ad you want to run.

It totally depends on the ROI. Facebook has its own specific audience and demographics similarly Instagram is also its own demographics.

So it totally depends on the advertiser which type of content he/she may want to promote.

If you’re targeting teens or a very young age then you have to think about Instagram and if you want to promote your content to middle or elder people then you need to focus on Facebook.

demographics

Instagram has a very high engagement rate so if you’re looking for an engagement rate is high then you must focus on Instagram only.

Conclusion:

So after concluding the session, I can say that Facebook and Instagram both have their own importance.

Both dominate the market.

If you want to grow your business then you need to use both of the social media giants.
